Process for sending SMS Campaigns via Engage/CT following TRAI Regulations

Step 1 - Requesting Template ID from the One97 SMS team

The campaign creator would need to send an email to One97 team (nishant5.kumar@one97.net and ashok.kashayap@paytm.com, @satya.pradhan@paytm.com CC smsteam@paytm.com) and share the below-mentioned details:

If reaching out to registered customers to remind/promote services and offers on Paytm, use "Service Explicit"

If reaching out to customers about 3rd party services (ads etc), use "Promotional"

Message

The content of the SMS, is exactly as you would enter in Engage.

If you want to use personalization variables, use {#var#} wherever the variables would go.  Example, "Dear {{first_name}} {{last_name}}, welcome" would become "Dear {#var#} {#var#}, welcome"

Step 2 - Creation of Template ID by the One97 SMS team

One97 SMS team will update the content in the DLT portal and issue the template ID. It can take any time between 12 to 48 working hours for them to issue a template ID.

Step 3 Creating a Campaign in Clevertap

a. While creating a campaign, the campaign creator needs to input the sender ID and the template ID under the 'What' section (refer to the image 2 & 3 below for the format) and select the correct custom webhook under the 'Setup' section (refer to the image 1 below)

b. Please do not check the box to shorten the URL from the CT panel. Keep the box unchecked for a successful delivery of the SMS campaign.



c. For Preview and Testing: Please use Webhook and refer to the SS below.


Test Webhook: [JAVA][SMS][Prod][Batch][UnEncrypted][Test] 




For testing SMS campaigns on the test webhook, we should use 91 as a prefix before the phone number. Example: 917091598403




DND for SMS Campaigns - 8:30 PM to 10: 00 AM





NOTE:  Please ensure that the Sender ID & Message Text entered match what the Template ID was issued for.
